Aird, Wendy- Sierra Vista
Subject area: Social Studies
Wendy was born and raised in Santa Clarita. She is married and has two sons. She has been a history and yearbook teacher at Sierra Vista for the past four years. This is her second year as a BTSA Support Provider and she truly enjoys working with and learning from all new teachers.

Ambrose, Jennifer - Canyon
Subject area: Science
Jennifer Ambrose has been in the Hart district for four years and she has taught at Canyon High for three years. She teaches Biology 2 and is the ASB Director. In her free time she enjoys traveling around the world with her husband Zach and taking long walks with her dog, Shorty.

April Brownlee - Sierra Vista
Subject area: English
April Brownlee is a fifth year English teacher at Sierra Vista Junior High School. She also has been the journalism advisor for three years and co-advisor for the GATE program beginning last year. In her spare time, April enjoys reading Victorian literature, writing children’s literature and poetry and spending time with her husband of eight years. In addition, April is a published author, using the pen name Browne Brownlee, for a novel entitled Bad Breath.

Duncan, Lisa- Valencia
Subject area: Resource
Lisa has been a Resource Specialist in the Hart district for nine years. Prior to that, she was an elementary educator. Lisa has been involved as a BTSA Support Provider for five years and the Resource Department Chair for eight years. She is also the mother of five teenage children. Lisa earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and her Master’s Degree in Special Education from National University.

Eddy, Shannon- Arroyo Seco
Subject area: SC
Shannon has been teaching Special Education for nine years-three of these years have happily been spent in the Hart district. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She also has a teaching credential and Master’s Degree in Special Education from Azusa Pacific University and an Administrative credential and a Master’s Degree of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration. During her free time, Shannon enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, skiing, and Scuba diving.

Erickson, Laura- West Ranch
Subject area: Librarian
Laura Erickson, Library Media Teacher at West Ranch High School, has been a Support Provider since 2005. Laura began her career working in Hawaii at Pearl City High School in 1978, moving to the Hart district in 1981. Laura has taught English, Social Studies and Yearbook Lab. Laura was recognized as a teacher of the Year in 2005. Laura enthusiastically teaches research skills to all students through collaboration with classroom teachers. Laura’s talents include quilting and tole painting. Her joys are her husband and children.

Kauffman, Jean- PAR
Subject area: SC
Jean grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She attended Shippensburg University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. When her three children were out of elementary school, she went back to school at California State East Bay and earned her Level I Education Specialist Credential. Jean taught Special Education in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District for three years. In 2000, Jean and her husband moved to Santa Clarita and she joined the staff of Sierra Vista Junior High. She taught SC 1 History and Math for seven years. She earned her Level II from CSUN. She has been a Support Provider for three years. She enjoyed the experience of mentoring so much that she decided to leave the classroom and become a full time Consulting Teacher for the 2007-2008 school year

Klipfel, Jennifer- PAR
Subject area: Science
Jennifer is a science teacher who has served students at both La Mesa and Placerita Junior High Schools. She joined the Hart District in 1993. She is in her third year as a PAR Consultant and her fourth as a BTSA Support Provider. She was honored as Teacher of the Year at La Mesa in 1996. She earned her B.S. in Biology from University of California, Irvine and her M.A. degree in Science Education from California State University, Northridge.

Krumrich, Mary- Rancho Pico
Subject area: PE
Mary Krumrich earned her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Exercise and Sport Science and Health Education, with a concentration in Adaptive Physical Education. She first came to the district in 2002, when she was hired at La Mesa Junior High School to teach 7th and 8th grade physical education. In 2004, she came to Rancho Pico to help open its doors and take advantage of the opportunity to develop a brand new physical education department. Currently, she is earning her Master’s Degree from the University of La Verne in Administration. She enjoys teaching junior high because she believes it to be a unique place where a positive influence can still make a great difference. Ms. Krumrich enjoys being active and spending time with family and friends.

Margulies, Linda- PAR
Subject area: English/Social Studies
Linda has been teaching for more than twenty years, with three years experience at Arroyo Seco Junior High and ten at Saugus High School. She is proud that she was voted Teacher of the Year by the students at both sites. She currently serves as Induction Director for BTSA and Lead Consulting Teacher for PAR. She presents a variety of workshops for teachers in the Hart district and up and down the state of California.

Greg Oatey - Arroyo Seco
Subject area: Social Studies
Greg Oatey has been with the Hart district for 22 years, all of them at Arroyo Seco. He teachers 7th grade World History, 8th grade U.S. History and a computer elective. He’s been the Site Council Coordinator for seven years. His hobbies include traveling, coin collecting and gardening. He has been married for 19 years to his wife Kathy, who is a 2nd year Special Education teacher also at Arroyo Seco. They complete the district profile with two boys at Canyon High School, one a senior and the other a sophomore.

Turski, Shelley- PAR
Subject area: Science
A 20-year middle-school educator, Shelley is in her second year as a full-time PAR Consultant and BTSA Support Provider. Prior to joining the PAR program, Shelley taught middle school science at La Mesa Junior High for eight years. Her early teaching experiences were in the Burbank Unified School District. Shelley earned her B.S. in Psychobiology, her teaching credential from UCLA, and her Master’s and Administrative Credential from CSUN.
